How to anchor the TRX

To ensure you get the most of out of your suspension training and are safe while doing so follow the steps below:

  • The anchor point you choose should be between 2.1 and 2.7 meters high and able to support your body weight.
  • To perform exercises effectively adjust the suspension anchor so that the black equalizer loop hangs 1.8 meters above the ground.
  • With the TRX Fully extended, the bottom of the foot cradles should hang 8 centimeters off the ground.

To achieve the optimal length of 1.8 meters above the ground you will need to adjust its length depending on the height of the attachment point. When attaching to smooth surfaces such as bars and poles wrap the suspension anchor several times and clip the carabiner around the strap to avoid any unwanted slipping.

Tips for higher anchor points:

  1.  Extend the suspension anchor.
  2. wrap the suspension anchor around the attachment point.
  3.  Clip the carabiner over the suspension anchor strap and click in place.

Tips for lower anchor points:

  1. Shorten the suspension anchor to appropriate length by wrapping it several times around the anchor point.
  2. Clip the carabiner into the appropriate intermediate anchor loop so that the black equalizer loop hangs 1.8 meters above the ground.

How to use the TRX door anchor.

Warning the TRX door anchor can only be used on solidly constructed doors that support the user’s weight. It should not be used on glass doors, sliding doors or wardrobe doors.
Ensure the door that you are using cannot be opened without turning the door handle and always use the included TRX warning sign.

To ensure you get the most of out of your suspension training and are safe while doing so follow the steps below:

  • For regular height doors remove the yellow suspension anchor and clip the TRX carabiner into the door anchor loop. If your door is more than 2.1 meters tall insert the suspension anchor into the door anchor to extend the length as needed.
  • If possible use a door that opens away from you to stop other people opening the door while you are working out.
  • Hang the “Workout in progress” warning sign on the outside facing door handle. Place the door anchor pillow over the door, close it and lock it if possible.
  • Always place the door anchor as close as possible to hinge of the door to increase the strength of the anchor point. Do not place the pillow on the hinge as the hinge will damage the pillow.
